School Programs K12
School Water Education Program
Solano County’s School Water Education Program (SWEP) provides FREE resources for teaching water awareness and conservation.
SWEP works with K-12 educators and students to inform youth about their water resources and how to protect and conserve them. By participating, you can help your students understand where their drinking water comes from, how it is used, and how they can conserve water to keep Solano’s communities strong and resilient.
You can schedule a free visit to your classroom for one of four water conservation lessons leveled for K-2, 3-5, Middle School, or High School. Solano RCD educators will join you for a hands-on and interactive investigation of some lesser-known ways to save water in daily life using a variety of activities. Or, join educators from around the region for the annual Solano Institute teacher training, where you will explore Solano County’s waterways and learn more about shared natural resources and how to teach about them using the Project WET curriculum.
For more information or to watch program videos, please visit solanorcd.org or reach out to program manager Stephanie Stock at Stephanie.Stock@solanorcd.org or (707) 678-1655 x 104.
Program funding is provided by Solano County Water Agency, Cities of Vacaville, Fairfield, Suisun City, Vallejo, Benicia, Dixon, Rio Vista, and Solano Irrigation District.
